What is Aggie Baking Club?
Aggie Baking Club was founded in Spring Quarter of 2021 as a Discord community, and soon exploded into a club much bigger than the founding board members could have ever imagined.
Baking is a healthy way to cope with stress and anxiety, something many college students expericne. Our goal is to provide an outlet for stress to those who may not have access to a kitchen in college, as well as introduce the art of baking to non-bakers!
In short, Aggie Baking Club is a community of baking enthusiasts led by a group of students who simply love to bake. We invite any and all students to join, no matter the skill level!

What kind of events do you have?
We hold free socials, study nights, watch parties, fundraisers, baking parties, and more!
In our baking parties, we select a recipe (paid members can vote on what recipe we do in their private Discord channel!) and bring you guys in to bake it! Baking parties have limited event capacity, and reservations/fees are required; however, our other events are free to enter. Please see the event flier for specifics.

Where & when do events take place?
Our baking parties are held in the Food Innovation Lab at the Robert Mondavi Institute, and are held on Mondays from 6:30-9:00 pm. A detailed guide with photos is available in the “resources” channel on our club Discord server.
Our other events take place in campus halls, local businesses, and other convenient locations in Davis! While we usually try to hold all events during our usual Monday time slot, the aforementioned casual events - and some baking events - can occur at any date/time.

How do I become a paid member? What are the perks of being a paid member?
You can find our membership survey under #resources in our Discord. The membership survey will have all of the information you need to become a paid member.
The perks of being a paid member are: priority event registration (usually guaranteed admission), discounted event fees and club merchandise, and a private Discord channel for voting on upcoming event recipes.
Refer to the image below to see the side by side differences between a paid and unpaid membership, as well as membership prices. We recommend that, if you plan on attending many ABC paid events throughout the year, you sign up for a paid membership. If you have any questions about membership, feel free to ask any board member about it!

What if I paid and can’t attend an event?
Full refunds will be issued if the cancellation is made at least 48 hours before an event.
Refunds will not be made if the cancellation is made within 48 hours of the scheduled event time because ingredients have already been purchased. :(
However, you can choose to transfer your fee to a different event so long as you let us know which event you’d like to switch to, but this is only possible once a year. This also does not guarantee event admission if you are an unpaid member.

What if I haven’t received my confirmation email? How do I know if I'm on the waitlist?
Confirmation emails are sent 1-2 days before an event. Please wait until that timeframe before contacting a board member with questions/concerns.
If you are placed on the waitlist, you will receive a message on Venmo.
If you have not received a waitlist notification or a confirmation email, contact us at [email protected] or contact our treasurer on Discord.

How do I get to the Food Innovation Lab?
In #resources on our club Discord server, you’ll find a map and photos of the FIL with instructions on how to get there.
What do I need to bring to a baking event? Is there a dress code?
You need to bring your own Tupperware/containers! We will no longer be providing plastic bags or aluminum foil.
Because the FIL is a laboratory, you will need to wear proper PPE: closed toed shoes, long pants, long hair tied back. You will not be allowed into the FIL without proper PPE for safety purposes.
Hair nets and aprons will be provided for you (if supplies permit).
